The good die young, they say.
We at the National Cancer Society Malaysia met Suhana Abdul Kadir or more famously known as Sue of “Sue & Her Boys” at our very first Relay for Life Kuala Lumpur way back in 2007.
Sue lost her mother to breast cancer and volunteered to sing at RFL KL from then on. Sue & Her Boys even performed at RFL Melaka in 2013. She never once refused us…..that is how much the fight against cancer meant to her. Most of us at NCSM didn’t know Sue very well but enough to know that as unassuming as she was, she was without doubt very inspiring both on and off stage, to everyone whose lives she touched.
This year, she played a bigger role at NCSM bringing her students from IACT College to work with our Education Dept on cancer awareness programmes. We are certain that she will continue to inspire us through her students at IACT.
Sue & Her Boys were once again scheduled to perform at RFL KL this year. We will surely miss her……
